Frame Those Views
Window dressing is one of the most important and exciting aspects of your home when it comes to soft furnishings. It adds a finishing touch by bringing character and warmth to your interior while providing that all important privacy.
– CHOOSING THE RIGHT FABRIC –
Whether it’s curtains or blinds you are in need of, we are here to help you with any decision making, colour and fabric picking or design creating. We offer a broad range of linen fabrics but we are also happy to work with your own. Our many years of experience allows us to adapt sewing techniques to all types of fabrics but there are some that are simply not suitable for blinds or curtains so please talk to us before making a fabric purchase elsewhere.
– IMPORTANCE OF SELECTING THE CORRECT LINING –
It is important to consider lining options as it plays a big part in the design changing the structure, shape, visual look and purpose of a blind or a curtain.
– COTTON LINING –
Cotton lining is a great option if you want to protect your fabric from any potential sun damage, add basic structure and shape to your blind’s folds or curtain’s pleats while still allowing some natural light to pass through the fabric.
– BLACKOUT LINING –
Blackout lining can often seem like a heavy and dark option however it is in fact white and does not differ much from the standard cotton lining in weight or texture. It is an ideal option for eliminating the outside light disturbing your night sleep. It also works as a thermal layer, excluding any drafts passing through. *Please note, some minor light may push its way through the tiny stitch marks.
– OPTING FOR A NO LINING OPTION –
For the relaxed, flowy, light and airy look, you may want to leave out the lining. It is important to know that the visual look will depend on the fabric you have chosen. Picking lighter fabric may not work well with certain curtain headings or blinds, making them look unstructured and uneven so please feel free to ask us for advice.
